The mean of average crew share on over 20m polyvalent vessels (IR£12121 per annum in 1996 and IR£15840 in 1997 calculated as part of the
EU Concerted Action (FAIR PL97-3541) 'Economic Performance of Selected European Fishing Fleets' Annual Report 1998)
was IR£13890 over the two years. The 1997 value was thought to be abnormally high due to low survey sample and a particularly high annual revenue
and was therefore averaged with the 1996 value. This mean was then averaged with the annual inshore fishery profits.
'Survey of Fish Processing Sector in Donegal, South-west' Donegal Fish Merchants Association (March 1998)
